We are pleased to announce the ten finalists of our first-ever YouthPower Learning photo contest! We had the difficult task of choosing from the many submissions that demonstrated Positive Youth Development (PYD) in action. While all the submissions were compelling, these ten photos represent the great breadth of our YouthPower network and the variety of ways a PYD approach to youth development can be applied. Our three winners represent diverse sectors of youth development in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, and our seven runners-up span the globe. Check out the winning photos here!

We want to thank all our reviewers, and in particular our photo contest advisor, Peter Zangl*.
----------------------
* Peter Zangl is a trained economist and photographer. He lives in Brussels where he worked in international organizations and developed progressively his interest in photography. He is mostly looking at the real life of people in our societies, where too many were at the wrong place in the wrong moment and didn't have the chance of seeing someone giving them a helping hand. He has had several exhibitions in Brussels as well as abroad, mostly with black and white photographs. One of his last exhibitions - showcased in different places - was "Incertitude" where he portraits the life of migrants who have applied to become recognized refugees, waiting for the administrative decision to be taken.
