Anyaka Makwiri

Anyaka Makwiri is an empowerment intervention for adolescent girls and young women developed by FHI 360 on behalf of USAID’s YouthPower Action program that was piloted in Uganda and adapted for Burundi. It includes group-based mentoring; curricula-based sexual and reproductive health (SRH), financial capabilities, soft skills, and gender content; activities to improve social connectedness; onsite STI/HIV testing; group savings; and links to SRH and GBV services.
