About this event

Join USAID’s YouthPower2: Learning and Evaluation (YP2LE) Learning Network for the launch of the Integrating Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) into Youth Programming Toolkit.

During this webinar, components of the Toolkit will be demonstrated to better understand ways in which USAID staff and implementing partners can use the included resources to implement effective MHPSS programs in low- and middle-income countries, both as standalone programs and as programs imbedded in youth-focused activities across multiple sectors.

Attendees will:

  • Understand why and how the MHPSS Toolkit was developed,
  • Learn about the composition and potential uses,
  • Find out where to access the resource, and
  • Have questions regarding the toolkit answered.

ABOUT THE MHPSS TOOLKIT

Youth mental health is an under-resourced area in international development efforts and, often, neglected in the global public health space. While there are robust academic research initiatives on youth mental health, the translation of such research into international development programming has been limited. To address this gap, YP2LE was commissioned by USAID to design a toolkit that provides strategies and tools that can be used to design and implement MHPSS programs in low- and middle-income countries. The toolkit contains a review of evidence-based MHPSS interventions, a framework for integrating MHPSS interventions into youth-focused programs, strategies for adapting indicators and measures to a local context, and strategies to measure MHPSS-related outcomes in programs to assess the impact on youth.

ABOUT YOUTHPOWER2: LEARNING AND EVALUATION (YP2LE)

YP2LE is a USAID-funded activity focused on building and disseminating the evidence on Positive Youth Development (PYD). YP2LE’s goal is to give program implementers, researchers, and young changemakers the information, tools, and resources they need to develop high-quality, impactful, and sustainable youth programs.
