About the Event
Incorporating mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) as part of development programming helps to make it more inclusive and effective. This is especially true for historically marginalized populations who oftentimes have the greatest MHPSS needs but the least access.
This webinar will provide an overview of good practices on engaging with marginalized groups and persons made vulnerable to ensure MHPSS is locally rooted, culturally relevant, and discussed appropriately. In addition to hearing about tools and resources to assess MHPSS support, you will hear advice from speakers about how to engage with diverse communities on these topics. Experts will include:
- Felix Ojok George Odera, Child Protection/MHPSS Specialist, War Child
- Sara Pearce, Clinical Advisor for Mental Health, Center for Victims of Torture
- Godknows Muperekedzwa, YouthLead Peer Advisor and a public health programmer and mental health youth advocate (moderator)
This virtual event is part of the YouthPower2: Learning and Evaluation learning network webinar series. The webinar will be held on Zoom and include automatic English closed captioning (CC).
