Provide a status update for your Innovation.

The methodology is currently being repackaged into a user-friendly tool conducive to the needs of governments, donors, youth leaders, and implementing partners. The tool will be available on and offline.

How does your innovation work?

The innovation leads the user or team of users (government, implementing partner, donor, etc.) through a step-by-step process that allows them to examine their Costed Implementation Plans for Family Planning to: - determine the percentage of activities dedicated to adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health - determine the percentage of the budget for family planning dedicated to adolescent and sexual and reproductive health - determine how/if eight specific evidence-based practices have been incorporated into their plans and where they could be better be incorporated to meet youth sexual and reproductive health needs

What Evidence do you have that your Innovation works?

In DRC, use of the innovation resulted in creation of the first national platform for engaging youth in decision-making related to adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health. Following use of the innovation, Burkina Faso included a greater share of activities dedicated to adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health in its Costed Implementation Plan. With use of the innovation, we hope to see more trends like this in the next round of Costed Implementation Plans developed by countries.

Do you have current users or testers?

Yes, the innovation has been tested with country teams in the nine Ouagadougou Partnership countries and DRC.

What is your strategy for expanding use of your innovation?

We will repackage the tool and disseminate to partners in countries where the Evidence to Action Project has worked and through regional and national platforms, such as the Ouagadougou Partnership and FP2020. We will officially launch the tool at the International Conference on Family Planning in November 2018.

Next Steps

Once the tool is repackaged to be more user-friendly, it will be widely disseminated through webinars, international conferences, and through country-level, regional, and global partners.
