The aim of this manual is to provide gender and cultural insights to promote a better understanding of gender and culture within the organization. It also aims to build diversity of staff and community representatives under Safeplan Uganda’s supervision incorporating gender and culture in community context and our organizational programme approaches.
The organization works within a multi-cultural environment and people of diverse backgrounds, so it's our norm to provide the staff and all its representatives with basics and guidelines to equip them for effective projects and activity implementations guide in ensuring that the organization achieves its planned goals and objectives. The contents are arranged in a way that motivates the staff to go through a process, whereby they first reflect on their own personal experiences and observations and link them to what they see and observe in their programs and community at large. Therefore, the idea is to impart knowledge and skills, starting from the organization level and moving on to the community.
This manual has been designed based on the community context and primarily for Safeplan Uganda staff and its representatives.
This is a product developed by Young Women Transform prize grantee Safeplan Uganda.
