This Use, Utility, and Uptake Report summarizes findings for the YouthPower2: Learning and Evaluation (YP2LE) embedded learning plan, a critical piece of the adaptive management process used to inform learning and implementation within the Activity and improve performance. The report also provides guidance and feedback that inform the YP2LE Year 5 work plan, as well as information task leads will use to reflect on progress within YP2LE’s activities, identify areas for refined approaches in YP2LE’s final year, and continue moving toward YP2LE’s medium- and long-term goals.

YP2LE conducted a mixed-methods monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) study, whose results are summarized within this report, by engaging in the following data collection activities:

  • A feedback survey with YP2LE Learning Network members 1 on use and utility of YP2LE activities, products, and events, and satisfaction with YP2LE’s two online platforms: YouthPower and YouthLead
  • Key informant interviews (KIIs) and focus group discussions (FGDs) with various YP2LE stakeholders
  • Analysis of indicator tracking table (ITT) data for YP2LE

To summarize results from these activities and highlight the contributions YP2LE has made to the youth sector after completion of its fourth year, we applied the Kirkpatrick model, similar to presentation of results in previous years. This model uses four levels: (1) Reaction, (2) Learning, (3) Behavior Change, and (4) Results to help gain a deeper understanding of how activities or projects address these levels to effect change.
