About the Event

Hear from two members of YouthMappers, a global network of young leaders that create resilient communities and define their world by mapping it. Kate Varfalameyeva and Maryam Shafiee Shakib spoke about their work using MapSwipe to address heat-related deaths in mobile home parks in Maricopa County, Arizona. They also spoke about their experience as members of the YouthMappers chapter at Arizona State University, which is one of 300+ student-led YouthMappers chapters worldwide.

Following their brief presentation, Kate, Maryam, and Al joined participants in a large-group discussion about the importance of youth engagement and mapping in international development. The webinar concluded with a brief interactive mapping session suitable for mappers of all skill levels.
