About the Event

This webinar offered insights on how youth can play an active role in COVID-19 recovery efforts at the local, national, and global level. Attendees heard from youth development practitioners in Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe on how youth have participated in COVID-19 recovery efforts so far, challenges that youth may face in engaging in these recovery efforts, and what can be done to address those challenges with organizations and other partners.

Hearing from three young people who have led recovery efforts in their own countries, this webinar featured:

  • Benson Onyango, founder and team leader of Generation Agenda, Uganda
  • Blessings Malama Kasenge, Clinical Research Mentor at the Centre for Infectious Disease Research, Zambia
  • Sharon Stella Musonza, member of the Zimbabwe Youth Council Policy Tracking Group

Presented by USAID's YouthPower 2: Learning and Evaluation Activity, the Youth Engagement (YE) Community of Practice (CoP) serves youth, practitioners in youth-serving organizations, and policymakers.

About the Community of Practice

The YP2LE Learning Network brings together diverse stakeholders who seek to learn more and share about youth development. As one of seven communities of practice, the Youth Engagement group (YE) helps members share and benefit from collective learning.
