Celebrating Young Entrepreneurs
For Global Entrepreneurship Week 2022, we recently shared five stories of incredible, young entrepreneurs on YouthLead.org and on social media platforms using #MyBusinessStory. Aspiring entrepreneurs learned how their peers got their start, the challenges they faced, and discovered advice for young business leaders. A special thanks to their partner, USAID/Greenland, for helping to raise the visibility of the work and unique challenges of Greenlandic youth. READ THEIR STORIES.
PYD in Practice
Starting The Entrepreneur Adventure
Rasmus Jakobsen and Anxhela Bruci are two young entrepreneurs running startups with social good at their core. From starting up to dealing with growing pains, they share their journeys and perspectives on running businesses in Greenland and Albania, and what they want policymakers to know about young business owners.
“You need to not only have those brilliant ideas,” Bruci says. “But the support in place and a huge resilience to act on those ideas.”
Plus, two must-have YouthLead Starter Kits to add to your business resource library. Listen in at youthpower.org/pydlab. The PYD Lab is also available on all major podcast platforms.

Making Labor Market Assessments Work for Youth
YP2LE's Business, Entrepreneurship, and Private Sector Engagement (BEPSE) community of practice (CoP) organized four webinars throughout the year about youth in labor market assessments (LMAs). By summarizing a year of learning around youth development and LMAs, this brief can help commissioners, implementers, and end-users of LMAs to engage youth. The brief outlines the spectrum of levels of youth engagement in an LMA, factors that suggest youth engagement is especially important, specific ways to involve youth, and a summary of additional lessons.
Universities Leading in Global Climate Action
In 2022, based on member input, the Higher Education Engagement and Transformation Community of Practice (HEET CoP) focused its learning on how higher education institutions are addressing climate change. Members wanted to learn what other countries’ higher education institutions are doing through academic programs, with young leaders, through external engagements, and in their operations. This resource and its accompanying table build on the 2022 webinars with findings of a rapid desk review and summarizes what universities globally are doing to address climate change.
Participate in a Community of Practice!
YP2LE's Communities of Practice (CoPs) are spaces where youth and youth-serving practitioners can come together to share ideas, tools, and build and test practical resources to advance PYD through collaboration, dialogue, and collective learning. These communities are free and open to all interested youth and youth-serving practitioners. Check out our upcoming events and webinars. Join one (or more!) of the six active CoPs today:
- Business, Entrepreneurship, and Private-sector Engagement (BEPSE) CoP: focuses on building skills in entrepreneurship and on collaboration with the private sector. Open to all sectors, the CoP will have an emphasis on agriculture initially, adding other sectors, such as health, education, or transport based on member interest and feedback.
- Youth Engagement CoP: focuses on meaningful youth engagement in all aspects of programming.
- Gender CoP: focuses on integrated youth-centered and gender transformative programming through PYD.
- Higher Education Engagement and Transformation (HEET) CoP: focuses on engaging the international community to advance higher education and youth learning priorities and strengthening the link between PYD and sector programming through a systems-based approach.
- Youth Systems Strengthening (YSS) CoP: focuses on providing an open learning and sharing space that allows participants to understand more about the purposes, processes and outcomes associated with reforming systems that impact youth outcomes sustainably and at scale.
- Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Youth CoP on YouthPower.org (English and Arabic): focuses on youth and youth-serving stakeholders supporting PYD in the MENA region.
- Learn how to join a CoP and engage with its members.
- CoP members receive weekly notifications of ongoing activities from their registered communities. You can change the frequency of the notifications by adjusting the setting on your YouthPower.org profile.
