The Communities of Practice (CoPs) are spaces for youth and youth-serving practitioners to come together to share ideas, tools, and build and test practical resources to advance Positive Youth Development (PYD) through collaboration, dialogue, and collective sharing and learning.

The three newly launched Communities of Practice are:

  1. Business, Entrepreneurship, and Private-sector Engagement: focused on building skills in entrepreneurship and on collaboration with the private sector. Open to all sectors, the CoP will have an emphasis on agriculture initially, adding other sectors such as health, education, or transport based on member interest and feedback.
  2. Youth Engagement: focused on meaningful youth engagement in all aspects of programming.
  3. Gender: focused on integrated youth-centered and gender transformative programming through positive youth development.

What is Different to the Communities of Practice under YouthPower Learning?

The refreshed CoPs will:

  • create large and small group spaces for shared learning, relationship building, meaningful interaction, and deeper collaboration;
  • formally integrate roles for youth in CoP leadership;
  • create informal spaces to share emerging ideas and network with like-minded individuals;
  • allow for more diverse participation and engagement for CoP facilitators and members;
  • increase opportunities for cross-pollination and learning among CoPs; and
  • increase opportunities for member-driven and self-directed work.

Additional CoPs will be launched soon.

For your convenience, we have put together a step-by-step guide to assist you in joining CoPs. (See also attached below).
