About this Event

Join YouthPower2: Learning and Evaluation (YP2LE) as we launch the new Global Online Youth Center Toolkit - Creating Resources for Safe Spaces, Youth Centers, and After-School Programs on April 6, 2021. During the launch, participants will hear from young leaders and experts on the importance of youth centers and safe spaces for youth and the process of designing them. We will be joined by representatives from USAID, UN Habitat, Creative Associates, and Glasswing International, who will guide participants through the new online toolkits and discuss decades of lessons learned on youth centers, one of the most in-demand components of youth programming. To accommodate our global audience, the launch will be held twice on April 6 at 8 a.m. ET and, again, at 3 p.m. ET.  When registering, please only register once at the event time that is most convenient for you. This event will be recorded and shared on YouthPower.org.

ABOUT THE YOUTH CENTER TOOLKIT

Many effective youth programs center around public safe spaces where youth can share ideas, learn new skills, and have constructive use of their non-school or work time. Having a safe space gives youth an opportunity to connect with others who are facing similar experiences and challenges. As a consequence, safe spaces can promote healing, empowerment, and resilience. These programs provide a set time and place for youth to engage with each other and in activities that range from education to sports to civic engagement. Garnered from global research, this toolkit provides resources and examples of constructive youth safe spaces, including after-school programs and youth centers.
