Welcome!

This quarter, inclusion is a common thread across several activities and happenings under the YouthPower2: Learning and Evaluation (YP2LE) banner. From gender equality and inclusive sports to beyond binaries and inclusive data, our Learning Network and partners have produced several resources and hosted robust conversations that challenge all of us to ask ourselves, how am I helping to move the needle on inclusion? Read on to discover additional ways you can incorporate inclusive approaches within your programs and strengthen internal initiatives within your organizations.

Around the World with YouthPower

Tapping into the Wisdom of Inclusion Champions to Better Understand the Drivers of Change

In a world where technology has evolved in a way that it can reduce the chasms between us, the true power of progress lies in inclusion. Youth everywhere are opening their hearts and minds to focus on everything that unites us, rather than that which divides us.

With that in mind, on August 30, YouthLead used Instagram Live’s virtual stage to broadcast a real-time conversation between two remarkable young changemakers, Asonele Kotu of South Africa and Sharon Raekae of Botswana. The conversation was framed through the lens of inclusive sports and Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI), providing a space for both women to share current challenges and solutions they are witnessing in their respective industries as well as insights from their advocacy work.

Their passion, dedication, and diverse perspectives painted a vivid picture of the change we collectively strive for. Explore their narratives, their dreams, and their overarching mission to craft a world where every voice matters, and every heart finds its place.

The engaging exchange coincided with the ongoing #United4Inclusion contest, a four-week campaign running through September 12 that rallies youth to showcase the power of inclusion through photo, audio, and written submissions.

Enter the #United4Inclusion Contest by September 12

There is still time to enter the #United4Inclusion Contest! YouthLead, in collaboration with Youth Excel, Accountability Lab, Atlas Corps, Grassroot Soccer, and YEO 2030 have created this contest to highlight efforts made not to discriminate against or exclude individuals based on their identities and abilities. Guided by the principles of "do no harm" and "do nothing about them without them," we embrace and recognize every individual and community, with their unique identities and experiences, as key agents in societal transformation.

To participate in this contest, young changemakers (18-35 years) can submit a compelling photo, audio clip, or written piece that embodies the essence of inclusion in one of the following categories: Inclusive Workforce Development, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI), Inclusive Activism, Inclusive Representation, or Inclusive Sports.
